Voicebuilding for Text-to-speech Synthesis (SS 2016)
Description
This seminar will allow the participants to build their own voices for TTS synthesis. This includes designing and recording (in a professional studio!) small speech databases and processing them with open-source tools.
We will be using MaryTTS; furthermore, familiarity with Linux and shell interaction are mandatory. Bringing a laptop with a working Linux installation is an advantage.
Prerequisites
To be eligible for this course, participants must have successfully taken the lecture Text-to-Speech Synthesis. This means passing the final exam.
Participants must subscribe to the course mailing list, which will serve as the primary means of communication.
Schedule
This instance of the seminar will be condensed into one week (11.04. – 15.04.2016), which will require full-time participation during those five days. The course will take place in building C7.2, room 2.11, from 10-12 and 13-15 every day for that week (except Friday, when the course will end after the morning session).
