At Saarland University research within COLLATE is aimed at facilitating the development of realistic applications. The main topics of research include

• multi-level annotation of large corpora,
• natural language interaction with electronic information services,
• the extraction of information from large volumes of digital texts and
• the management of large information repositories by improved retrieval and summarization functions.
